George K. Millard, 49, assistant cashier at First National Bank, died early this morning in the Veteran’s Hospital, Minneapolis, where he had been a patient for several weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. William Napper of Loman Route announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Maxine Sharon, to Robert M. Johnston, son of Mrs. Grace Johnston and Graydon Johnston of the Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall F. Brown will be honored at a reception in Zion Lutheran Church parlors on Sunday afternoon in celebration of their 25th wedding anniversary.
Charles (Chuck) Warmuth, formerly of the Falls and now serving with the U.S. Border Patrol, was among the 500 federal officers involved in maintaining peace during the Oxford, Miss., integration of James H. Meredith into the University of Mississippi.

Mayor Archie Kelley recently observed his birthday anniversary and was honored at a coffee get-together of friends and officials in the city clerk’s office. He is 51.
Mrs. Russell Johnson, 815 Eighth St., entertained a group of friends at a costume party. Each guest dressed as a character opposite to her own personality.
Mrs. Wayne Maki was honored guest at a kitchen shower at the home of Mrs. Tom Shewchuk, 1319 Ninth Ave.
Among contestants in the amateur show to be sponsored Oct. 25 at Backus Auditorium by the Falls hospital auxiliary are Barbara Koski and Rose Mary Cookson, in a baton twirling duo number, and the sister team of Lillian and Delma Johnson, vocalists.
70 YEARS AGO
John Wirkkula Jr., 5-year-old son of John Wirkkula of Loman, broke his collarbone while playing.
Mrs. Charles Williams and Mrs. V.W. Davis were guests of honor at a surprise birthday party at the Williams’ home, Crystal Beach. A 1:30 luncheon was served.
Clifford Gilsoul, U.S.N.R., has received a call to active duty for Nov. 3. He enlisted in September and received a rating as first-class petty officer.
Harold Neset arrived home last evening from San Diego where he has been employed for several months. He plans to stay at home for two weeks and then enlist in the service.
