The Bruce H. Gryting Law Office has moved to 209 Third St., International Falls (formerly Realty World).
Thursday morning was the first time that International Bildrite company employees — besides the office staff — were working on a permanent base at the wood-sheathing plant site on Highway 11 East.

Mr. and Mrs. William Wichner, Lake Kabetogama, were honored Sept. 29 at an open house at Rocky Ledge Resort. Host and hostess for the event were Bob and Ruth Streckwald.
An open house reception will be held at the Helge Jonson home on Lindford road on Oct. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. honoring Mr. and Mrs. Albert Symoniak on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary.
A boy was born today at La Verendrye Hospital, Fort Frances, to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Souder, the Falls, 7 pounds, 11 ounces.
Mrs. Jack Kennedy, Papermakers Colony, and identical twin sons, Darrell and Dennis, were honored at a baby shower at the Hank Urban home.
60 YEARS AGO
The first snowballs of the season may have been made Thursday morning by David Chute, 5, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Chute of Ray. The boy, evidently eager for the winter season, was out at 7 a.m. to play in the light snow covering the ground and made several snowballs by the time his father left for work in the Falls.
Peter M. Pedersen, formerly of the Bemidji Daily Pioneer, recently joined The Journal composing room staff. He and Mrs. Pedersen have moved into a house in South International Falls. They have three small children, David, Drew and Andrea.
Mr. and Mrs. Nate Shapiro, formerly of the Falls, celebrated their silver wedding anniversary at their home in Vancouver, Wash.
New officers of Girl Scout Troop 137 are: Norma Olson, president; Janet Hollinshead, vice president; Leana Hendrickson, secretary-treasurer; Sharon Arnold, scribe; and Muriel Shortridge, Juliette Low chairman.

At home in the Kelly Apartments, 716 Sixth St., are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Constantine Jr., whose wedding was an event of Oct. 1 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa.
Being vice president of G.A.A. at Falls High School automatically makes Phyllis Ecklund president of the pep squad. Other officers are Peggy Gordon, vice president; Norma Thydean, treasurer; and Mary Louis Hadler, secretary.
Mrs. Knute Aklestad entertained at a dinner Tuesday honoring her grandson and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Slowe of Ranier. Mr. Slowe left today to enlist in the Navy.
