Mrs. Clifford (Ellen) Breneman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lovell of Ray, recently completed the course in practical nursing at the Eveleth Area Technical School in Eveleth.

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Paulson, 817 Ninth St., and Warren Paulson, 404 Fifth St., left last week for a trip to the World’s Fair in Seattle, Wash.
A recent release to The Journal by the Bemidji State College athletic department reads as follows: “Because of his strong showing as a pass receiver and his rugged defensive play in recent scrimmages, Duayne Johnson, a freshman from International Falls, has gained a position as an end on the alternate team of Bemidji State College’s varsity squad.”
Robert Kyryluk, 15-year-old Borderland accordionist, was a featured soloist with the Tamburitzans when they played a concert in Eveleth Saturday night.

Ralph Miller, Northern Minnesota Apartments, was honored on his birthday anniversary last night with a party at his home.
Mrs. Tranquillo Lucca, 1118 Seventh Ave., was guest of honor at a stork shower at the home of Mrs. Gus Holm, 1139 Eighth Ave.

Clayton Spath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Spath, is a patient in Northern Minnesota Hospital. While cranking his model T Ford after school Monday, the boy broke his right arm.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Shoberg (Julia Stillar) and family left for Valley, Calif., where Mr. Shoberg will be employed in defense work.
