A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. John Kroeten, 7 pounds, 13 ounces.
Twin sons were born Sept. 15 at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kennedy, 5 pounds, 13 ounces and 5 pounds, 10 3/4 ounces.
Henry Piekarski, city poundmaster, and his son, Andrew, returned safely to Sportsmen’s Dock about 5 p.m. Monday after spending a cold and wet night in their boat on shore while they waited out the big wind on Rainy Lake Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Gable and son, Dennis, and Miss Marlys Beckstrand accompanied Richard Gable on Saturday to Houghton, Mich., where Richard enrolled in Michigan Tech.

Dr. Suzanne Agnew, 33, formerly of International Falls and daughter of an early-day local physician, has contacted polio in Cleveland, Ohio.
Albert Braaten recently purchased the Leonard Roy farm in Papermakers Colony and has moved his family there. The place was formerly owned by the Milton Gibsons.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Larson Jr., who have resided in Wilmington, Calif., for the past year, were expected to arrive here today to make their home. Larson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Larson Sr., 919 Riverside Drive, is a graduate of University of Minnesota School of Forestry.
“Old Faithful,” the steamer used by the border city street department for 30 years to open frozen culverts and on other chores, is going into well-earned retirement. The hard-worked piece of equipment will be replaced by a modern steamer.

Mr. and Mrs. John Paradis, Thirteenth Avenue, announce the birth of a daughter today.
Mrs. Oivo Maki (Mildred Harris) left this morning for Tampa, Fla., where she will make her home. Her husband is stationed at Drew Field, Fla., at present.
Fred U. Day, veteran deputy sheriff, celebrated his 76th birthday anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Drummond celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary at their home. Covers were laid for 14 guests for a 6 o’clock dinner.
