A girl was born today to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Taylor.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. James DeMuth.

Linda Degerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Degerman, has enrolled as a freshman at Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn., for the fall semester.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Damon White, 7 pounds, 10 1/2 ounces.

A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson, 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Chowan, 6 pounds, 15 ounces.

One of the best bowlers in the Falls area, Irving Sher, proved it again the other night in Major League bowling when he startled everyone with a three-game total of 715.

 

60 YEARS AGO

Denise Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Johnson, 1304 10th St., celebrated her fourth birthday Saturday with a party for five little guests and their mothers.

Mrs. Darrell Wegner Jr., 402 Fourth St., was honored at a stork shower at the home of Mrs. Lester Nordlum, 1410 First Ave. E.

Miss B. June Hammond, daughter of J.M. Hammond, Clark’s Colony, will graduate Wednesday evening from a three-year course at Minneapolis General Hospital School of Nursing.

The federal weather station at Falls Municipal Airport has scheduled an open house for Saturday and Sunday in observance of its 10th anniversary as a first-order station.

 

70 YEARS AGO

Mrs. Jack Gildersleeve, 936 Third St., entertained at a party at her home complimenting Mrs. Frank Passe of Minneapolis who is visiting relatives.

A group of friends attended a farewell party at Tex’s Hall for Teddy Tilander, who is going to the Army.

Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Miernicki left today for Superior, Wis., where they will make their home. Mr. Miernicki has been employed in the Minnesota Markets during his residence here.

Arthur Whitney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Whitney, who is a student in the Junior College at Virginia, underwent an emergency appendectomy.
