Michael C. Duepner, president of the First National Bank in International Falls, was elected District 8 board of directors member for the Minnesota Bankers Association.

Miss Pamela Sue Lepisto, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Henke Jr., of the Falls, has become one of the select group of young women in the country. She has become a Women of the Air Force.
Debbie Nelson Hendrickson graduated recently from the Brainerd Beauty College following completion of the nine-month course. She is a 1970 graduate of Falls High School.
50 YEARS AGO
Sharon Jenine Frederickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Frederickson, Island View Route, last week entered Reed College in Portland, Ore., as one of 254 freshmen from 30 states and eight foreign countries.
Donald Lucachick, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Lucachick, 1105 Seventh St., has his bicycle back thanks to a Journal story Thursday relating that the bike was stolen while Donald was at choir practice Wednesday evening.
Wenberg’s Transfer left today for Minneapolis with the household goods of Mr. and Mrs. John Sisco. The van also carried the household goods of Mr. and Mrs. George Curtis. Their furniture will be transferred at Minneapolis to Wheaton Van Lines and taken to Manassas, Va.
Mrs. Lillian Snyder, R.N., is the newly-elected president of the Border Registered Nurses Club.
60 YEARS AGO
Claude Hemsworth, 1122 Main Ave., is receiving treatment at Falls Memorial Hospital for food poisoning and other members of his family were less seriously ill. The illness is believed to have been turkey dressing served at a public supper. Several other Falls families are reported to be ill at their homes and required the care of a physician.
Richard F. Berryman, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Swanson, South International Falls, is completing his basic airmen indoctrination course at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The Grover brothers, Fred W. and Chauncey, were among 26 Mando employees who this week received 25-year rings in recognition of long-time service in the Falls division.
Mrs. Charles Bahr, South International Falls, was honored guest at a surprise stork shower at the home of Mrs. Mary Clark, South International Falls.

Miss Carol McCabe entertained 20 guests at her home at Crystal Beach complimenting Mrs. Genevieve Khuhn Youso of Newark, N.J., who is visiting at the home of her parents at Point O’Pines, and Wally Kuhn who will leave for the Army Monday.
Eric Kokko, who is stationed at the Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Ill., left today after spending his leave here with his wife.
Ray Stone, U.S.N., son of Mr. and Mrs. N.P. Stone, 800 Fourth St., arrived home last evening to spend his leave here, and Douglas Stone, U.S.N., another son, arrived this morning. Both boys are stationed at Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Ill.
Mrs. Peter Krogseng and Mrs. James Cummings entertained at the Krogseng home, 714 Sixth St., complimenting Mrs. Ted Krohn.
