Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary met June 6 at the hospital with president Carolyn McDougall presiding.

Hospital liaison Mickie Olson introduced Pam Norman, who conducted the training session for volunteers.

Olson announced that the RLMC Foundation will conduct a golf tournament fundraiser July 21 with proceeds from the event going toward the chemotherapy unit.

A thank you letter was received from hospital administrator Bonnie Erickson for the cash donation given to the hospital. These funds will also go toward the chemo unit.

The $500 scholarship was awarded to Riley Nemec, who plans to attend North Dakota State University, pursuing a chiropractic career.

Corresponding secretary Sonia Wegge reported on cards sent. As membership chairperson, she will conduct a membership drive in July.

Volunteer director Florence Hervey and Sue Larsen reported on attendance at the May Minnesota Association of Healthcare Volunteers (MAHV) in Moose Lake. They reported learning many new ideas and will try them out in the months ahead.

The annual MAHV meeting is set for Sept. 20-22 in Brooklyn Park.

The District B Fall Forum will be hosted by St. Luke’s Oct. 10 at Grace Lutheran Church.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be July 11 at the hospital. (Note change of date).
