Rainy River Community College has hired Teresa Neufelder as a full-time chemistry and natural science instructor. She  will begin her tenure at RRCC Aug. 20.

“I am very excited to be teaching science at Rainy River Community College where small class sizes allow the students to do more hands-on science in the classroom as well as outdoors in this most amazing northern woods environment,” said Neufelder.

Neufelder started her teaching career as a secondary instructor of math and science in Indiana and has been teaching chemistry, biology, physics, geology and environmental science at Vermilion Community College in Ely since 2004.

According to Director of Instructional Services, Tammy Cook, “Teresa’s well-rounded background is a perfect fit for the needs of Rainy River Community College and our science department. Our students will benefit greatly from her interdisciplinary experience, her desire to collaborate with other faculty, and her enthusiasm to inspire students in their learning of science.”

Neufelder has bachelor of science degrees in chemistry and biology, a master of science degree in education from Indiana University, and a master of science degree in chemistry, materials and chemical synthesis from Illinois Institute of Technology. She will be teaching chemistry, physical science, and environmental science for RRCC in the fall semester.
