Northland Art Society met Oct. 1 at the Backus art room.
Chairperson Barb Gray called the meeting to order.
Presenting to the public, the art club participated with Backus in the Autumn Arts Festival Oct. 8 and 9.
Recently, the society has elected to open the art room for shoppers to view the work of local artists.
New business for the club was to change the time of the monthly meetings from 6:30 p.m. to 6 on the first Thursday of each month.
Rosie Rasmussen will display her art at the hospital for the month of October.
Artist Linda Laurence of Andover will present a watercolor workshop Oct. 24 and 25. Classes are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the Backus art room.
Lisa Simon suggested members prepare bios along with a photo to put in a binder. Simon will help members with this task.
A thank you to Cathy Johnson who served lunch at her home for the Thursday ladies and all who were around the art room that day. Word got around quite fast and Johnson had a full house.
Open painting sessions continue each Tuesday and Thursday from within the art room at Backus. Everyone is welcome to join, whether you are a beginner or experienced artist.
