The Arrowhead Library System and International Falls Public Library officials invite the community to a presentation by author Jack Salmela accompanied by a voyageur reenactor at the library at 1:30 p.m. April 24.

Salmela will lead the audience on a tour of early Minnesota history based on research he compiled writing the book, “Of Vikings and Voyageurs.”

Using original maps, authentic voyageur artifacts (including a musket to be fired outside if the venue and weather permit), and accompanied by a voyageur reenactor, this presentation is sure to intrigue, according to organizers.

Lake Superior Magazine describes Of Vikings and Voyageurs as, “Stir ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and ‘National Treasure’ into the northwoods and the resulting mixture would be the plot of this latest book by Jack Salmela.”

The program is geared towards older children and adult audiences.

Admission to the presentation is free from a sponsorship by the Arrowhead Library System and funding by money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
