Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary President Beverly Beck presided at the Nov. 5 meeting conducted at the hospital. She led in the prayer for hospital auxiliaries.

Liaison Angela Liedke was present and gave a report on hospital happenings.

A thank you letter was read from Brenda Jones, former liaison, for the auxiliary’s donation to the Community Baby Shower.

Chairpersons Carol Lagoo and Sadie Darvell reported that the annual bake sale was very successful. They thanked those who contributed and those that came and brought the baked goods. Proceeds will be used for equipment for the hospital.

Helen Billig, gift shop chairperson, reported that fruitcakes should arrive soon and that electric candles, gourmet food mixes and more jewelry are in stock.

Connie Lacher reported the fall meeting of Health Care Auxiliaries of Minnesota was conducted at Benedictine Health Center in Duluth. She was accompanied by Marcie Rasmussen. Members hope to change the title to Health Care Ambassadors of Minnesota. Eighty auxilians from the area attended.

A membership drive is planned for Nov. 24 at Backus Community Center during the craft fair. Membership in the auxiliary stands at 78 at present. Membership dues may also be paid at the gift shop during the hours it is open.

Connie Lacher reported for the nominating committee. She presented a slate of officers. Election will take place at the December meeting. Also serving on the nominating committee are Sonia Wegge and Jo Johnson.

Door prizes were awarded to Lacher and Lagoo.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be Dec. 4 at the hospital.
