Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary President Linda Tilander called the Jan. 4 meeting to order and led in the prayer for hospital auxiliaries. She then turned the meeting to newly elected president Beverly Beck. Committee reports were given.
Brenda Jones, hospital liaison, was present and gave a report on hospital happenings. Stephen Erixon has been appointed interim administrator. A memorial blood bank will be conducted Feb. 23. Forty-five donors are needed. The auxiliary will assist in directing people who donate.
The auxiliary’s annual sloppy Joe feed will be held in February. Pamela Hanson is chairperson. Proceeds from the event will benefit a scholarship awarded to a graduating high school senior who has a medical career as a goal.
Gift shop chairperson, Helen Billig, said Christmas sales were very good. Popular items at the gift shop are candies, jewelry, and glassware.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be Feb. 1 at the hospital.
