Local quilters have been busy stitching and sewing in preparation for the Whispering Pines Quilt Guild’s seventh annual quilt show Friday and Saturday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in the Falls.

The show is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The main focus for members of the guild is to support the Falls Hunger Coalition. The group donates money and food to the organization following the wrap up of the annual show.

Last year, members said the guild was able to donate more than $2,500 in money and food to the food shelf.

Those who attend the Whispering Pines Quilt Guild’s show will be able to browse hundreds of locally-made quilted items. Demonstrations by guild members will also be presented throughout both days. The group meets throughout the year to exchange ideas and view creations of fellow members.

Admission to this weekend’s show is a non-perishable food item or monetary donation. All proceeds are donated to the Falls Hunger Coalition.
