President Linda Tilander presided at the Sept. 7 meeting of the Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary. The meeting was conducted at the hospital. Members recited the prayer for hospital auxiliaries.
Membership chairperson Connie Lacher reported on the membership, which now stands at 102 members. She and hospital liaison Sage Johnson are working on a membership brochure. She introduced new members who attended the meeting. Volunteer chairperson Sadie Darvell said the new volunteers will attend a training session and have their photos taken for the identification tags.
Gift Shop chairperson Helen Billig gave the treasurer’s report and commented on the new items in the gift shop: candles, North Woods wall clocks, soup mugs and soap. Benson fruitcake and cashew brittle are on order.
The nominating committee will be meeting soon to present a slate of officers at the October meeting. Serving on the committee are Helen Billig, Carol Lagoo and Pam Hanson.
The annual bake sale has been scheduled for Nov. 5 with Beverly Beck in charge.
It was announced that the fall meeting of the District B hospital auxiliaries will be Oct. 20 in Duluth. Several members indicated they would attend.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be Oct. 5 at the hospital.
