Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary president Beverly Beck presided at the March 1 meeting of the auxiliary conducted in the hospital classroom. She led in the prayer for hospital auxiliaries. Committee reports were given.
The Sloppy Joe Feed was a success. Proceeds from the event of Feb. 10 will provide a scholarship for a graduating high school student who is planning a medical career. The event was chaired by Pamela Hanson and Panetta Jackson.
Gift shop sales are good reported chairperson Helen Billig. New items in the shop include purses (handbags) in various styles and shapes, jewelry, seasonal gifts and snacks. Baby gift sets are on order.
Membership chairperson Connie Lacher reported one new member. She has nearly completed a new brochure which describes the purposes and goals of the auxiliary. Sig Hardwig was honored with a life membership in the auxiliary. She has retired after many years of volunteer service.
Hospital liaison, Brenda Jones, reported that the Feb. 23 blood drive was a success and resulted in 33 donors (10 new donors).
President Beck encouraged auxilians to attend Legislative Days at the State Capitol.
Door prizes were awarded to Carol Lagoo and Connie Lacher.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be at 10 a.m. April 5 at the hospital.
