Linda Tilander presided at the May 4 meeting of the Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary conducted at the hospital.
Committee reports were given and an account of the District B Spring Forum was enthusiastically given by Connie Lacher, who attended with Edith Hopke.
A thank you note was sent to Sage Johnson by corresponding secretary Joan Frick. A thank you note was read to the volunteers, written by Sadie Darvell.
Membership chairperson Lacher reported three new members. She talked about plans for future membership campaigns.
Gift shop chairperson Helen Billig gave the financial report for the shop and announced that Bone China dishes and colored glassware have arrived. Address books and eyeglass cleaner are on order.
Beverly Beck gave a report on guidelines for the scholarship committee.
The community baby shower was announced. The gift shop, as well as individual members, have contributed to the event.
Lacher gave a report on the District B Spring Forum that she and Hopke attended in April. They came back with new ideas for the auxiliary and encouraged others to attend in the future. Bigfork Valley Hospital Auxiliary was the hostess for the forum.
Door pries were awarded to Hopke and Tilander.
At the June 1 gathering of the auxiliary, Marguerite Davison presided at the meeting.
Hospital liaison Sage Johnson introduced Katie Loop, who was awarded this year’s auxiliary scholarship. Loop graduated from both Falls High School and Rainy River Community College this year. She will attend the College of St. Scholastica.
Johnson also introduced Jessica Duchnicki, who will be assisting her as a summer intern.
Reports were also heard from the treasury, gift shop, membership and volunteers. The gift shop has new jewelry, hand creams and soaps.
Beverly Beck reported that will be more revisions to the auxiliary constitution.
Door prizes were awarded to Connie Lacher, Beck and Joan Frick.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be July 6 at the hospital.
