Due to forecasted rain, Koochiching County's Relay for Life will be held at Rainy River Community College, not the previously scheduled location of Smokey Bear Park. The Saturday event begins at 2 p.m. and runs until midnight.
All events will proceed as scheduled, at the college. Music, kids entertainment, food, Celebrity Pies (in the face),luminarias on display, and performances and speeches by local people are in the lineup. New walkers are still welcome for the fundraiser.
Taking pies in the face for a good cause will be community celebrities Paul Eklund, Suzie Best, Lori Lyman, Dieter Humbert and Willi Kostiuk.
Scheduled speakers are Mike Ward and Gwen Street.
Luminaries to honor or remember loved ones may still be purchased at the event.
