Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary met Feb. 1 at the hospital with president Beverly Beck presiding. She led in the prayer for hospital auxiliaries.

Plans were finalized for the annual Sloppy Joe Feed Feb. 10 with Pamela Hanson and Panetta Jackson as co-chair-persons. Serving will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with proceeds going to the auxiliary scholarship fund. Each year the auxiliary awards a scholarship to one graduating senior who will be pursuing a career in the medical field.

Volunteer director Sadie Darvell reported that she had filled out the questionnaire for HCAM (Health Care Auxiliaries of Minnesota). Volunteer hours served from April through December were 3,614 hours. The hours will now be tabulated from January through December.

Membership chairperson Connie Lacher reported that auxiliary membership stands at 125 members. She is working on an informative booklet that will be given to new members and informing others on auxiliary projects and procedures.

President Beck reported that Legislative Days will be held at the state capitol April 6 and hoped that someone would attend.

Door prizes were awarded to Carol Lagoo, Joan Frick and Gen Ziemba.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be at 10 a.m. March 1 at the hospital.
