President Linda Tilander presided at the Feb. 4 meeting of the Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary.
Pam Hanson and Panetta Jackson are co-chairpersons for the upcoming sloppy joe feed scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 3 at the hospital dining room. Proceeds from the event will benefit the auxiliary scholarship fund. Last year’s recipients were Aaron Skoglund and Kasshia Mostad.
In other business, Helen Billig, the new gift shop chairperson, gave a report on her trip to the gift market. Many new items, including wood wicks and stuffed animals, are on display in the shop.
Hospital liaison Sage Johnson announced that the blood drive will be Feb. 24 at the hospital. Auxilians may help in telephoning. Also, she will be making plans for the annual spring luncheon in April.
Corresponding secretary Joan Frick said cards had been sent to Joan Myer and Marcie Rasmussen.
A discussion was held to change the auxiliary year to January to December. A committee will be appointed to discuss this further and report back to the auxiliary.
Door prizes were awarded to Joan Frick, Sadie Darvell and Carol Lagoo.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be March 2 at the hospital.
