Applications are being accepted for the title of Mrs. Koochiching County. Mrs. Koochiching County will represent her county at the Mrs. Minnesota pageant, which will be held at the Ritsche Auditorium March 16-17 in St. Cloud.

The woman chosen as Mrs. Koochiching County will be become an ambassador from her area, and will receive the official title and sash.

Mrs. Koochiching will also receive a package worth $7,000 and the chance to represent Minnesota at the 2013 Mrs. International pageant in July. The “Go Red for Women” American Heart Association are the official charities of the Mrs. Minnesota pageant. Visit www.goredforwomen.org.

The currently reigning 2012 Mrs. Minnesota is Sarah Bazey of Minneapolis. Traveling all across the state, Bazey speaks on her platform “Dare to Soar” and offers assistance in recovery to burn victims. 

Bazey survived a helicopter crash in 1994 and suffered severe burns to 40 percent of her body and face. A statement says she knew her life changed forever. 

In her speeches, she highlights that more than 1 million people are burned each year and burns do not discriminate and can happen to anyone at any time.

Competition in the pageant includes a personal interview, aerobic wear and evening gown. There are not talent or swimsuit competitions.
