Gary Hultman, a member of the Birchdale family band Sloughgrass, has recently joined the band Bluegrass Firelight.
The band is based in Johnson City, Tenn., where Hultman attends school at East Tennessee State University studying bluegrass, old-time and country music.
Hultman’s uncle, Soren Olesen of Sloughgrass, reports that Bluegrass Firelight’s bass player is Kiley Ellingson from Cambridge, Minn. Hultman and Ellingson are good friends and auditioned together, Olesen said.
