Tuesday Musicale met at 6 p.m. March 14 at the home of Margarete Kostiuk.

The meeting began with the entertainment for the evening. Kostiuk, accompanied by Jessie Laurion on the piano, sang a tune from Showboat entitled, “Can’t Help Loving That Man of Mine” and “Till There Was You,” from The Music Man.

Doug Skrief selected three traditional Irish tunes to sing, also accompanied by Laurion. They were “Danny Boy,” “Mother Machree” and “Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ra.”

Marcia Bringedahl bought us up to date on the progress made by the scholarship committee. Letters have gone out to all music teachers in the area, posters made, and audition forms sent to the schools. April 6 was selected as the date for this years auditions.

Fundraising for Tuesday Musicale’s Summer Music Camp Scholarship Program for local music students is in progress.

Proceeds from the recent Borderland Musical Showcase at Backus Auditorium will be used for student scholarships.

The newly formed “Welcome Committee” has worked on updating our constitution and by-laws. Bringedahl and Linda Torseth handed out copies of the constitution and discussion by the members followed, making additions as necessary. The new constitution will be available at our next meeting and members will take a vote to accept or reject.

In other business, a nominating committee has been appointed and is comprised of the executive committee: Hoa Sobczynski, Erin McCormick, Patt Thorpe and Margarett Patnode.

The next meeting will be April 11 at the home of Cynthia Herberg.
