The regular meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 was called to order at 7 p.m. March 13 by president Linda Chezick with 12 members present.
The opening ritual was held and roll call of officers conducted. Conductress was Irene Anderson, pro-tem.
One petition for membership was recognized — Caren Panchot, whose eligibility is her brother, the late Darrell Braaten, a deceased member of the Post. A voice vote was taken to accept Panchot as a new member.
Minutes of the February meeting, along with correspondence was read. The treasurers report was read and filed, subject to audit.
Pat Delapp reported that membership is at 102.98 percent.
The charter was draped in memory of Elizabeth McGregor who passed away March 5.
The auxiliary will host Bingo for residents at Good Samaritan Society-International Falls, March 15, and will serve pies April 5.
For those interested in attending the 2012 Legislative Days at St. Paul, a bus will leave Cloquet at 5:30 a.m. March 20.
A Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Breakfast is set for March 25. Veterans eat for free.
The following donations have been made: Food Shelf, St Cloud VA, Tuesday Musicale/scholarships for music students, Koochiching Soil and Water for 2012 Envirothon Project for area students and Memorial Day Foundation/Bouquets.
A portion of breakfast proceeds will be donated towards improvements to Scheela Field.
Door prize was won by Gladys Arnold.
The meeting closed at 8:45 with the closing ceremonies.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. April 10. All members are encouraged to attend.
