Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 was host to the 8th District Meeting Aug. 18-19.
Guests included: Ward Wallin, Silver Bay Veterans Home; Bob Posch, 8th District commander; Lee Ulferts; department commander; Doris Anderson, department junior vice; and Jean Harkins, 8th District president.
Meetings took place for the posts and auxiliaries both days.
Awards were given to the auxiliary for the following:
Certificate of Merit for Blood Drive program and stamp program; second place award, Outstanding Hospital Program; Linda Chezick, Certificate of Merit as the district chairman with Most Creative Program Educating Members and Certificate of Merit, district chairman with Most Attendance at Legislative Day; Certificate of Recognition for National Military Service; first place award for Veterans and Family Services; second place award, Outstanding Americanism Promotion; and Certificate of Achievement, Carter Leseman for Loyalty Day School Coloring Contest, second place, category 1.
