Koochiching County commissioners are slated to meet Tuesday for what appears to be a brief agenda.

The board meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. in the courthouse boardroom. An agenda is considered tentative until the government body begins the meeting and makes additions or deletions to the proposed agenda.

The board at 9:40 a.m. is expected to consider exploring a regional child support project with the cooperation of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

At 10 a.m., the board is expected to review a request from Boise Inc. to vacate a portion of County State Aid Highway 332 known at the Burner Road. The board and Boise officials said earlier that they may consider options other than vacation to address safety concerns on the road.

The board is also scheduled to hear a request to fill an engineering technician position and a vacant permanent part-time position in the Highway Department. Also at that time the board is scheduled to award bids for culverts, hired trucks, crushing of material in a state pit across Highway 11 East from County Road 138, and blasting and crushing on county land in the Indus area.

In addition, the board is scheduled to consider placement of plaque recognizing Bernard F. Baker on a county bridge.

At 10:30 a.m., the board is scheduled to offer a public comment period, when the public may address the board on any topic.
