Falls students complete degree requirements

Two International Falls students were among 210 who completed undergraduate degree requirements at Bemidji State University and graduated at the conclusion of the 2012 summer sessions.

Cassandra Ellison-Smith received a bachelor of science degree in business administration, and Eden Jackson, a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Local students receive transfer scholarships

Bemidji State University students Katie Solo, of International Falls, and Amber Halverson, Northome, were among 10 who received Community College Transfer Student Scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic school year.

Solo is a junior majoring and criminal justice and Halverson, also a junior, is majoring in elementary special education.

These $1,000 scholarships are available to all Minnesota community college transfer students who completed an associate of arts degree or the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

An application for admission serves as the application for this scholarship; to be eligible, students must be admitted to Bemidji State prior to June 1 and enrolled as full-time students.
