FHS Student Council

FHS Student Council recently traveled to St. Paul to attend WeDay.

Falls High School Student Council members Nov. 3 attended WeDay in St. Paul, an event for Minnesota students staged annually at the Xcel Energy Center.

WeDay is put on by Free the Children and brothers, Craig and Marc Kielburger, who started the organization with the intent to change the world 20 years ago. More than 18,000 students earn free tickets to attend by completing local and global service projects.

Motivational speakers included Chelsea Clinton, Lily Colllins, Henry Winkler, Spencer West and Dr. Mae Jemison. In addition, musical groups such as Nico and Vinz, Darren Criss, Kenyan Boys Choir and Ciara performed. Others shared stories of how they are volunteering and doing good deeds in the world.

To complete local and global projects, FHS students went trick-or-treating for the Food Shelf and brought in over 200 pounds of food, collected warm winter gear for those in need, started a recycling project at school, and are packaging up boxes of supplies for the troops this holiday season.
