Indus School Student Council

Indus School Student Council members Haille Hansen, Corinne Dahl, Isabelle Cress and Maggie Morgan participate in the State Student Council Convention at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School.

Four Indus Student Council members traveled with Adviser Lois Lewis to Sauk Rapids-Rice High School April 9-11 to attend the State Student Council Convention — Haille Hansen, Corinne Dahl, Isabelle Cress and Maggie Morgan.

The theme of this year’s convention was, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”

The students took in roundtable and “hot topics” sessions, and heard from keynote speakers and performers Jessie Funk and Mark Lindquist, about leadership skills. They participated in a service project, voted on new state officers and made new friends.

The students joined several other schools from northeast Minnesota in attending the State Convention and also participated in division meetings and division cheers.

They stayed in host homes, enjoyed a performance by illusionist Russ Peak, went to an awards banquet, and participated in a carnival, a dance, and open gym activities.

Each student brought back some new ideas to implement in Student Council next year and Maggie Morgan reported on the trip to Independent School District 363 School Board at their April meeting.
