Sarah Manka

Sarah Manka, graduate candidate in Biological Sciences at Eastern Illinois University, was selected to receive a Williams Travel Grant for her research titled, The Effectiveness of the Hose-bridge as a Road Crossing Structure for Snakes.

Named for Dr. Larry Williams, dean of the Graduate School from 1976 to 1997, this award recognizes excellence in graduate research and supports travel to present at regional and national conferences.

Manka presented her research at the Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference in Grand Rapids, Mich., and her faculty mentor was Dr. Stephen Mullin, Professor of Biological Sciences.

Manka is a native of International Falls and the daughter of Laura and Robert Manka.
