Falls High School students received Rainy River Community College Foundation Scholarships at the International Falls Rotary Club awards event staged May 16 at Falls High School cafeteria.
RRCC Foundation President Erik Strand presented the awards, which totaled $51,000, along with Gail Rasmussen, who presented an additional $2,500 in Erik Rasmussen RRCC Memorial Scholarships.
The following is a list of recipients and their awards:
$500 Erik Rasmussen Memorial Scholarships were awarded by Gail Rasmussen to Tyler Cann, Kylee Christensen, Christopher Kostiuk, Aleisha Mason and Walker Ulrich.
RRCC Foundation President Erik Strand awarded $500 Finish What You Start awards to Briauna Becvar, Dylan Holt, Karin Klow, Shane Thramer, Ryan Tremain, John VanHeel and Walker Wegner.
These awards were offered to all FHS graduating seniors enrolled in concurrent courses, planning to attend RRCC full-time starting in the fall of 2016.
$2,500 Academic Achievement Scholarships were awarded to Chase Bernard, Taylor Fish, Jordyn Forsythe, Erica Gearhart, Dylan Holt, Karin Klow and Shane Thramer.
These scholarships are awarded to students who earned a 3.0-3.5 grade point average.
$3,000 Top of the Class Scholarships were awarded to Briauna Becvar, Reina Goulet, Aleisha Mason, John VanHeel and Walker Wegner.
These scholarships are awarded to students who earned a 3.5-4.0 grade point average. The scholarship is renewable for a second year if the student maintains a 3.25 grade point average.
