Falls Elementary School students and staff, with the help of the Parent Involvement Committee, have been selling cookbooks since April in an effort to raise $5,000 to help buy new supplies for the school.
Since then, the goal has been met and organizers say the cookbooks have been flying off the shelves. The PIC still has about 100 books left in stock, and is selling them at $10 each. Money the PIC gets from the leftover cookbook will be used to fund for more projects involving Falls Elementary School.
“The cookbook project was a fun project for students, staff and families,” said Jenn Windels, co-organizer of the keepsake cookbook, Alphabet Soup. “We feel it’s the kind of project that builds a sense of community and promotes school spirit.”
Cookbooks can be purchased at the Falls Elementary School Office throughout the month of June, and throughout the summer and early school year at All Seasons Equipment, Coffee Landing Café, Rainy Lake Chiropractic Clinic, Espresso Lane, and Northern Exposure. The remaining cookbooks are expected to sell quickly.
