Hasbargen working in Math Help Center
Monica Hasbargen, of International Falls, a senior majoring in elementary education at Bemidji State University, is among 13 students working in BSU’s Math Help Center during the 2012-13 school year.
The Math Help Center is a free tutoring center located in Bemidji State’s Hagg Sauer Hall. Student workers there are dedicated to helping other students build skills in mathematics.
In addition to tutoring, Math Help Center students also work in math and computer science workrooms and labs, assist professors and help organize the annual Northern Minnesota Mathematics Contest.
Courses covered in tutoring sessions include Intermediate Algebra through Calculus II, as well as Applied Statistics.
Wilson admitted to Carleton College
Aleena Wilson, of International Falls, has been admitted to Carleton College as a member of the Class of 2016.
She is the daughter of John Wilson and Teena Wilson.
Aleena is a graduate of Falls High School.
Area students to attend UW-River Falls
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has some 6,383 students enrolled for fall semester.
Area students include Helen Sobczynski, of International Falls, majoring in animal science, and Jodi Bauers, Baudette, majoring in accounting.
