Blair awarded BSU scholarship

Kelly Blair, of International Falls, has been awarded a Bemidji State University Leadership Scholarship.

A junior at Bemidji Staet University, she is majoring in elementary education.

Wakelin receives scholarship

Ashley Wakelin, of International Falls, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from Woodcraft Industries, headquartered in St. Cloud.

Scholarship applicants must be in the top 25 percent of their class in grade point average and show involvement in extracurricular school activities and community and/or church activities.

The 2012 graduate of Falls High School is the daughter of Jason Wakelin, St. Cloud, and Lori Dufault, International Falls. She plans to attend Rainy River Community College in the fall.

Woodcraft Industries has nine plants spread across the United States and manufacturers kitchen cabinet components and doors, both hardwood and engineered wood.

Ecklund named to UND deans’ list

Cory Ecklund, of International Falls, was named to the University of North Dakota deans’ list.

The list includes students whose grade point averages are in the top 15 percent of the enrollment in each of the university’s degree granting colleges and schools.

A student must have completed no fewer than 12 semester hours of academic work for the semester, of which eight or more hours must be graded work rather than “satisfactory/unsatisfactory.”

Students named to VCC spring grads list

The following International Falls students were named to the Vermilion Community College, Ely, spring grads list.

Brett Lyczewski, high honors graduate, certificate, seasonal park law enforcement ranger, and honors graduate, AAS, wildland/wildlife law enforcement; and David Dragon, highest honors graduate, certificate, seasonal park law enforcement ranger.

Larson named to Moorhead dean’s list

Hannah Larson, of Littlefork, was named to the Minnesota State University Moorhead dean’s list in recognition of academic achievement for the 2012 spring semester.

A graduate of Littlefork-Big Falls High School, she is majoring in speech/language/hearing science.

Students must maintain a 3.25 or higher grade point average and carry 12 graded credits to qualify for the honor.
