Demuth receives pharmacy degree

Allan James Demuth, International Falls, graduated from North Dakota State University spring 2012 with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Lindberg awarded scholarship

Sara Lindberg, of International Falls, is the recipient of a scholarship from the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation Board of Trustees.

This year, the foundation awarded scholarships from 39 different funds to more than 250 students in the region.

Lindberg attends the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Locals named to MSM dean’s list

International Falls students named to the Minnesota State Mankato dean’s list for spring semester included Ben Kucera, honor list, and Shailynn Shipley, high honor list.

To be included on the high honor list students must achieve a 4.0 straight A average and a 3.5 to 3.99 average to qualify for the honor list.

To qualify for academic honors, undergraduate students must be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours for a grade.

Welsh named to spring dean’s list

Central Lakes College, Brainerd and Staples, has announced its 2012 spring semester dean’s list.

Honor student Nicholas Welsh, of International Falls, was named to the list.

The dean’s list includes students who earned a grade-point average of 3.25-3.74.

McClellan graduates with history degree

Zachary McClellan, of Littlefork, graduated from Northwestern College with a bachelor of science in history May 12.

McClellan is a 2008 graduate of Littlefork-Big Falls High School.

Kurhais receives degree from SCSU

St. Cloud State University conducted spring 2012 commencement ceremonies May 5 at Halenbeck Hall for approximately 1,690 students.

Among them was Kelsey Kurhais, of International Falls, who received a bachelor of science degree in elementary/K-8 education, magna cum laude.

Locals named to spring grads list

Candidates for graduation at the University Minnesota Duluth’s Undergraduate Commencement May 12 at the Amsoil Arena included International Falls students Sara Lindberg, who received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering, and Sethen Ettestad, receiving a bachelor of applied science degree in communication sciences and disorders.

Local students on BSU dean’s list

International Falls students were named to the spring semester dean’s list at Bemidji State University.

Students carrying 12 or more semester hours during any one term and earning at least 3.25 (B-plus) grade point average are included on the dean’s list.

Named to the dean’s list were Monica Hasbargen, Danika Stelton, Emily Flansburg, Eden Jackson and Lisa Simon.
