Students in Julie Talmage’s fifth- and sixth-grade class at St. Thomas School took a field trip this week to Gearhart’s Floral and Gifts to make flower arrangements in honor of Mother’s Day, which is celebrated Sunday. After a tour of the facility, florist Betsy Ward explained the art of flower arranging. Each student selected from a variety of flowers, fillers and accents to create their own personal arrangement.
