The Indus After-School Elementary Recreation Program concluded their first 10-week session with a sleigh ride at Mann’s Farm in International Falls.
Julie Talmage is the coordinator of the program.
Children reported that the freshly fallen snow and warmer temperatures made for an enjoyable ride to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. And, what sleigh ride would be complete without a rousing rendition of “Jingle Bells”?
The kids enjoyed a couple of stops along the way to pet the horses and roll down the hill to burn off some energy.
During the fall, students went fishing in Birchdale, bowling in International Falls and hiking at Franz Jevne State Park. They also have participated in geo-caching, Tae Kwon Do, Halloween activities, and recreational games at Indus School.
The recreation program will start up again with a new session the end of February.
