The Littlefork-Big Falls School Board Wednesday set its preliminary tax levy at $507,797 — a 0.19 percent decrease from last year.
The preliminary levy must be set in September and finalized in December. The levy can be reduced before December, but may not be increased.
The board set the Truth in Taxation meeting to adopt the final levy for Dec. 19.
In other business Wednesday, the board agreed to hire Jack Larson as the junior high football coach; LuAnn Henrickson for concession stand work; and Marnie Kostiuk as the elementary special education teacher.
The board also discussed the possibility of building a new trophy case in an effort to make the school’s trophies more visible to the public.
The idea was referred to the building and grounds committee for review, and a recommendation is expected to be brought to the board’s October meeting.
