In an ongoing effort to listen and engage with students, Sen. Terri Bonoff, chair of the Minnesota Senate Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee, announced that beginning Tuesday, she will embark on a month long “Listening Tour.”

Bonoff, along with key stakeholders, will gather input from students and community members on how the state can best serve Minnesotans with regard to higher education.

“College students in Minnesota are facing tremendous challenges avoiding debt, getting the right training, and securing jobs,” says Bonoff. “I’m looking forward to hearing directly from students about their concerns. We must work together to identify what we can do at the state level to ensure that Minnesota’s Colleges and Universities of the future meet the needs of students, as well as the needs of the 21st century workforce.”

Bonoff and key stakeholders will host “listening events” at nearly 20 colleges and universities. All listening events are free and open to the public.

Bonoff has released a website, complete with a listing of tour stops and ways for visitors to continue this important ongoing dialogue. Visit and join the conversation at http://mnhighered.wordpress.com.
