Accelerated Reader awards were recently given to several deserving Indus School students.

“AR Club is a great way for students to continue their love of reading after school,” noted fifth grade teacher Shelly Koenig, who supervises the program.

AR ran from September through May this year, with a final celebration May 8.

The following students received awards for their accomplishments:

Most Words Read

First place — Jacob Dalton, fifth grade, 3,491,897 words

Second place — Cyrus Thomopoulos, sixth grade, 503,053 words

Third place — Nova Mish, fourth grade, 370,822 words

Highest Points

First and second grade winner — James Bjork, second grade, 31.1 points

Third and fourth grade winner — Nova Mish, fourth grade, 49.5 points

Fifth and sixth grade winner — Jacob Dalton, fifth grade, 528.5 points

Over the year, the group of 20 students read a grand total of 5,719,265 words.
