The 7,049 registered voters in Koochiching County cast their ballots on Election Day Tuesday in local, state, and federal races.

As of 10:50 p.m. Tuesday the following are the unofficial local results, with 7,049 voters registered.

Koochiching County

County Board District 1: Wade Pavleck, 690, Barry “Woody Woods, 292.

County Board District 2: Kevin Adee ran unopposed.

County Board District 4: Rob Ecklund, 985, Debbie Bowman, 215.

Sheriff: Perryn Hedlund, 2,656, Brian Jespersen, 2,360.

International Falls Council

East Ward: Brian Briggs, 437; Leon Ditsch, 254.

Center Ward: Harley M. Droba, 347, Joe Schwartz, 296.

West Ward: Cynthia Jaksa, 439; Charles C. Lepper, 421, Joann Smith, 107.

Littlefork City Council

Two available seats: Kevin Sather, 172, Preston Hoy, 145.

Big Falls City Council

Two available seats: Shawn Pritchard, 87; Jeffrey L. Oehlerking, 56.

Mayor: Marta Lindemanis, 60; Teckla Brown, 55

Mizpah City Council

Two available seats: Laura Gibbs, 18; write in, 4.

Ranier City Council

Two available seats: Ron Wilcox, 151, Joann Kellner, 114, Jeff McHarg, 111, Naomi Woods, 95.

Write-in results for Independent School District 361 will be counted this morning and will be made available later this week. With nine of 10 precincts reporting, on the ballot question on expanding the school board from six members to seven, “Yes” had 2,707 votes to “No” with 1,014.

With 4,106 precincts in Minnesota, final unofficial results were not available for state and federal races in time for publication.

State Representative District 3A

At 10:21 p.m., with 36 of 83 precincts, or 43.37 percent, reporting, District 3A Representative showed incumbent David Dill, DFL, leading with 5,517 votes, or 64.57 percent, with newcomer Eric Johnson, Republican, following with 3,016 votes, or 35.30 percent.

Governor

In the governor race, with 2,383 of 4,106 precincts reporting at 10:29 p.m., incumbent Mark Dayton, DFL, had 52.14 percent of the votes with Republican Jeff John following with 42.48 percent of the votes.

U.S. House 8th District

The hotly-contested race among the candidates for the 8th District U.S. Representative was tight at 10:20 p.m. with 245 of 810 precincts reporting. At that time, incumbent Rick Nolan, DFL, lead with 34,099 votes or 48.59 percent, followed by Stewart Mills, Republican, with 32,783 votes, or 46.72 percent. Green Party candidate Skip Sandman had 3,228 votes, or 4.6 percent.
