The Icebox Radio Theater will be holding an open house from 6-9 p.m. Thursday in Studio B-6 to introduce Icebox University, a new program focusing on dramatic arts education. Visitors to the open house can expect to learn more about the fall offerings of Icebox U as well as its eventual goals.
The focus of Icebox University will be to offer everyone - regardless of their experience - the opportunity to participate audio theater, as well as the associated crafts of script writing, direction, sound effects, post production and audio engineering.
This fall, Icebox U will offer one workshop per month for all ages. The workshop will give participants the opportunity to help record an audio script either as an actor, sound effects artist or engineer.
There will also be a two-day writer's workshop for people interested in learning how to write audio scripts. This workshop is for both young people and adults and will cover the basics of script writing for audio theater. Dates and times of the writing workshop will be announced soon.
All Icebox University programs are free of charge. Partial funding for Icebox University programming is provided by The Marshall M. Knudson Family Community Fund.
