It may have been raining outside, but Backus Community Center was brimming with activity during the first of three Active Streets event Wednesday. The rain forced the event inside, but organizers are planning to close to traffic portions of Fourth Street and Ninth Avenue for the July 9 and Aug. 13 Active Streets events. Active Streets is intended to encourage physical activity and healthy eating, by connecting the activities to the nearby Community Market and Community Gardens.
