Just in time for winter

Ten years after the publication of Mary Casanova and Ard Hoyt’s “One-Dog Canoe,” the collaborators bring back the same girl and her dog for a wintry sequel, “One-Dog Sleigh.” Like its predecessor, this story features the girl and dog on a ride for two, this time through the woods in a cozy red sleigh, but just like before, one animal after another dives in making it a snug fit for everyone. Casanova said since she wrote “One Dog Canoe,” she and her husband, Charlie, have added horses to their lives. “In the winter we hitch up Charlie’s horse, Midnight, to a sleigh we’ve renovated. When we go through the wintry woods, our dogs often ask to join in,” she said. The author will host a book signing for “One-Dog Sleigh” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 14 at City Drug, where the book is currently available. It is also available locally at Ronnings and The Coffee Landing Cafe.
