This season’s final Border Concert Association show set for May 1 can be attended for free thanks to the Arrowhead Library System.

Tickets to a concert by Les Trompettes de Lyon, which is set to take the Backus Community Center stage at 7:30 p.m. May 1, are available at the International Falls Public Library.

Born in 1989 in Lyon, France, the Trompettes de Lyon are on their debut tour for Allied Concerts and will perform for 26 concert associations in communities throughout the Midwest.

According to a release, what sets these five musicians apart from other brass ensembles, is they all play trumpets which range in size from the very high-pitched piccolo trumpet to the large bass trumpet.

The free tickets are sponsored by the Arrowhead Library System and funded by money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
