Once again Polka enthusiasts will enjoy the sounds of the Singing Slovenes and The Chmielewski Funtime Band when PolkaPalooza returns to the Twin Ports Dec. 8. at the AAD Shrine building in Hermantown. This annual favorite features a cash bar, light snacks and desert, while supply lasts. The doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the music runs from 1-5 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $8 at the 610 KDAL studios, which is located in the Tech Village in downtown Duluth. They will also be available at the door for $10. Proceeds from tickets will go to the A-L-S Association.
KDAL’s Pat Cadigan, who hosts Saturday morning’s The Midwest Polka Party, encourages Polka fans to take advantage of this opportunity to see both the Singing Slovenes and Chmielewskis perform on stage at the same venue. Cadigan says the AAD Shrine Building, “Is a great stage and we’ve always had a blast. It’s the perfect way to escape a cold, winter’s day. We’ll see you out there.”
