Officials with the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce announce that they will once again partner with the Fort Frances bass tournament to host “Quest for the Best.”

This annual event will begin at 7:30 p.m. July 26 under the big tent at the Sorting Gap Marina in conjunction with the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Classic.

A statement said that after the thrilling conclusion of last year’s competition, the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce this year’s competition will feature a similar format. It will be a two-round competition, with first and second places for each round. The two first place winners will then compete together in one final, exhilarating, battle song.

This year, contestants stand a chance of taking home the grand prize of $1,000, sponsored by Northern Community Development Services. Other awards, such as audience response, and people’s choice will be awarded for prize money all totaling $3,600.

To date, a release said officials have confirmation from two of this year’s three judges. One being Quest veteran Brittany Hayes, and the other being jazz blues beat poetry singer songwriter producer piano player Sunday Wilde. Wilde hails from Atikokan, Ontario, and has won jazz and blues awards for her original compositions.

Participants interested in performing in this year’s Quest for the Best, forms will be available for download on the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce website, www.fortfranceschamber.com, or by contacting the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce for more information, 807-274-5773, or info@fortfranceschamber.com.
