Katie Ray Murray, a singer/songwriter with local roots, will be among featured acts on a nationally televised program.
Murray, the granddaughter of former Falls Mayor Jack Murray and Donna Murray and Ray and Lolita Moone of International Falls, will perform two of her original songs on Shotgun Red Variety Show. The show first airs at 3:55 p.m. April 10 and again at noon April 13.
A release described the Shotgun Red Variety Show as “an exciting show featuring great talent from 6 to 96 years young.” The show reviews more than 1,200 CDs and DVDs every year from acts all around the United States and Canada looking for acts that are different and performers viewers would love.
The show is recorded in front of a live studio audience on The General Jackson Showboat in Nashville, Tenn. The show is made up of singers, dancers, magicians and many more.
Murray is a singer/songwriter, performing acoustic country and pop in small to medium venues, in Nashville, Tenn., the Twin Cities, and greater Minnesota. She has released two full albums of original songs that are available on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. Listeners can also stream her music on Pandora and Spotify.
The 18-year-old started performing as a child in Baudette. She has performed on stages across Minnesota, including the Minnesota State Fair, Minnesota Irish Fair, Anoka Riverfest, MoonDance Jammin’ Country Fest, and Carlos Creek Winery. She has also played at the Bluebird Cafe and Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Nashville.
