Who will be the next Miss Koochiching County?

The search is on for the next Miss Koochiching County.

If you are female, single, never been married, never given birth, and are between the ages of 19 and 30 years old, you could earn the title of the 2016 Miss Koochiching County.

Applications are being accepted for the role and the winner will represent her county at the Miss Minnesota pageant, which will be held March 12, 2016 at the Ritsche Auditorium in St. Cloud.

According to a news release, the young lady chosen as Miss Koochiching County will become an ambassador for the Koochiching County area and will receive an official title and sash.

Whoever is chosen as Miss Minnesota will receive a prize package worth $7,000 and the chance to represent Minnesota at the 2016 Miss International pageant held in Jacksonville, Fla.

The current reigning Miss Minnesota is Alexis Adu-Bobi of Duluth. As Miss Minnesota, Adu-Bobi speaks to young adults about the NO MORE –Together We Can End Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault campaign.

As a child, Adu-Bobi along with her mother and siblings, suffered through years of abuse at the hands of her father. Her mother somehow found the strength to leave, but the aftermath that domestic violence leaves is a legacy of broken lives full of fear, trauma, and mistrust. Contestants will compete in a personal interview, fitness wear, fun fashion wear and evening gown competitions.
