The bold really do run in the cold.
The Icebox Days’ Freeze Yer Gizzard Blizzard Run tagline held true Tuesday for the Reindeer Run, hosted by I Falls Partners in Education.
The event, according to organizer Jenn Windels, raised $500 for the Wishing Willow Program, which provides elementary classrooms with supplies.
Temperatures plunged to 34 degrees below zero early on in the day prompting race organizers to move the kid’s run indoors, but dedicated runners, including Santa Claus, took on frigid temps for the 5-kilometer run outside.
John Cowman crossed the finish line first with a total run time of 21 minutes, 5 seconds.
