Fatal accident: Riley Burnell, 24, and Natasha Burnell, 23, of International Falls, died at the scene of a head-on car crash at 7:42 a.m. Thursday while traveling south on U.S. Highway 53, 25 miles south of International Falls. According to the report, a Ford pickup driven by Burton G. Pinchuk, Naperville, Ill., traveling north crossed the centerline and struck head-on the Burnell’s Pontiac Grand Am. Pinchuk was listed in critical condition and a passenger in the Pinchuk vehicle, Glen A. Wegworth, 69, McHenry, Ill., had non-life threatening injuries. They were transported by ambulance to the Rainy Lake Medical Center - Hospital Campus and then flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.
